May 11th was a nice day
So it's been a while since I posted. I was waiting for Snydys blog to update with pics to post. You can find them here. So last weekend I took a last minute Shore trip with Rick and Snydy. It began with a very tired me making the trek to Rick's shore house. I got over the Ben Franklin and realized I forgot something. So it was back over the bridge and then off I went. The rest of the drive was good. Snydy was shooting in NYC so he rolled in around 1am.He came through the door and took two steps then dragged his but along, two steps and then...well you get the point. Oddly, he was the last one up on Saturday. Saturday began with a trip to a dinner in Ocean City.We had some grub then off to the sands casino. The casino closed and was now a huge flea market. I will always think of it as the biggest abandoned house I've ever been in. It is best described as carnage. If it could be removed it was. Tubs, door markers, sinks, vanity's, vacuums ,anything. I picked up a Laser printer for 50 dollars. It was risky since there was no guarantee it would work. It did and Rach paid me half the cost. Not bad at all. We went back to the car to drop off our items and then we went back in to walk the floors. Till this point we had just walked the casino floor and the showroom. We got to the 21st floor and were shocked by the size of the rooms. They even had spiral staircases($1,800) to the second part of the room on the 20th floor. They had whirlpool tubs($350.00), showers that were like rooms(sold or destroyed). We went in one room and it must have been the spa. Rod sat on one of the massage tables and we just thought of the history of that table. We worked our way down to the 18th floor. This was the Plaza club rooms. They had very nice door markers. We didn't have the equipment to get them off the door. Snydy unscrewed a bar off the door. I used it to Pry one off. Then Snydy got one. It took another bar to get the third one because the first two destroyed it. We worked our way down the rest of the floors. The regular rooms pretty much ran together. That night it was cigars on the veranda. There were some crazy people trying to skinny dip in the bay. The water isn't very warm judging by their screams. Then off to bed. Sunday we traveled to O.C. again. We saw the place old boats go to die and relaxed by the power plant. We walked the boards a bit, got some pizza, then back to bbq. We ate some burgers ,cleaned up and off we went. A good time indeed-C

Nice post.
I'll be back.
thanks Chris for the post. you are a good writer. looks like you had fun. that picture on Rod's post is funny. im sure by the time Rod was ready to go, you almost considered drinking from it...
(how many hours bottle hunting did you or i wait for Rod, only for him to say, just a few more minutes?)
Skate- My watch ran out of batteries twice while bottle hunting...on the same week even. It was just that long some times.(dig your heart out little shovel). This however was extremely fun. Had it not closed at seven I'd have been up to staying longer. I considered drinking from it. Then I thought about where it had been. I wasn't thinking college student at the time. Also a congrats on the news!(I talked to Y.M. last night, you'd think he could do better with the comments).
thank you!
Wow, that was a good day. Was this 2006 or 2005? I can't remeber. This post has been up for about that long.
