Hometime
So I started to paint underneath our bathroom sink. The cabinet was pretty shabby looking. I figured I'd clean it out and paint it. So I started by sanding with three different sandpapers. First a rough grit then working to smoother. I gave it a primer of bright white paint. It didn't look half bad. Then Rach used the sink. Drip, Drip,Drip. So now I can see that we have a leak. I drove to the hardware store and got a new drain pipe. I started taking the old one out and the bottom of the sink just crumbled. I'm thinking three things at this point. One, That this is not good. Two, that it is 6 o clock on a Saturday and all the local hardware stores are closed. Three, I'm thinking this really isn't good.I really didn't want to schlep it up to Lowe's or Home depot. So I go driving through the borough checking the local stores. Stans, closed, True Value, closed for good! Then I remember this little shop by our local wawa. I walk in and it looks like a yard sale with stuff everywhere. Think piles not shelves. The elderly gentleman at the counter hands me plumbers epoxy! Success! I used it on the sink and now have a false bottom so to speak. If that drain needs changing you'll need to change the sink too as they have become one!(very zen I know). So Sunday comes along and mom has painting for me. Luckily we had help and my role was mostly just to move furniture. We managed to get the first coat on the whole house. We'll finish tomorrow. Pics to be posted later-C
