Jim In JimThorpe
So Last night Rod, Jim and myself met up at the Zippy house to see a show in Jim Thorpe. What we thought we were seeing was Sam Bush opening up for Joe Bonamassa. Actually had we seen that show it might have been good. We met up at 6:20 sharp and started the trek along the turnpike. Jim hadn't heard of J.B. so we played some while driving. I still don't think he had heard any J.B. when we got there as there were many stories to be told. It was a very chilly night in Jim Thorpe. As we made our way up to Penns Peak my car was really putting along. We got to the Penns peak theater at 8:01. J.B. was on stage and we settled in. He was very good but was playing a low energy set. He didn't really light himself on fire so much but instead did a slow burn. It was good though. Rod commented that there were allot of older people there. We didn't know why yet but soon....very soon...we would find out. J.B. went off stage and they began to set up for Sam Bush. I went out for a smoke and saw that 1) It was Snowing and 2) There where people leaving for good. So I got back to the seats and mentioned this may be a country thing. Rod said nah, this is a blues show. So at that moment I pointed out the banjo and fiddle on the stage.Sam bush came out and it was hard not to laugh. He was good, just not what we came to see. I had seen a little of him on WHYY and liked it enough to think about dragging everyone to Lehigh to see him. That would have also included a whole line up in his style. Willie nelson, etc. Pairing him up with Joe Bonamassa was like trying to mate a four cylinder engine to a corvette transmission. They just wouldn't go together. So Rod watched the show and Jim and I drifted in and out of Jokes.Jim almost fell of his seat when this 80 year old man got up and did a jig.I don't think us youngsters know how to dance to that stuff. We left about mid way through his set. We decided we would get something to eat. Rod plugged in food into the gps and off we went. We drove to a dinner that was closed. So we figured we'd make our way down the turnpike and go from there. The gps turned us around on spooky hollow road. Had we crashed no one would find us. The population of the town was 94. Although that may change when Bessie has her twins. She met her hubby at the family reunion. We got turned around and made our way down the turnpike. Jim slept and Snydy looked for food. We found a dinner and got some grub. Jim got cheesecake and coffee. The waitress really liked him.Jim-"can I have coffee with cream and sugar". Waitress-"well you know the sugar's right there". Rod almost made her go postal by asking for a second coke. Especially since she already told him they had Pepsi. He really does have a mental block with soda. I got eggs. Now usually I get breakfast at dinners because it's hard to screw up. Usually anyways. It didn't work out. The grade d eggs and uncut potato hash brown wasn't very good. The toast was done very well though. Nice even color ,no mold. We pretty much laughed our way through the meal and went on our way. We arrived at the Zippy domicile around 2. Said our goodbyes and called it a night. Good times-C

Not bad snoozer but a few things.
1. I said that the Sam Bush was going to be a Bluesgrass show, not blues.
2. Bessie did have her twins, but miscarried them both. it's a sore subject & that's why it's still 94 not 96.
3. my burger & fries at the diner were actually pretty good. I enjoyed them.
4. Asking for Coke just prooves that I'm a Coke man, not Pepsi.
1)Sure, bluegrass. Maybe that's what the concert promoters where smoking.
2)That's just wrong and I was being wrong in the first place
3)You didn't see the kitchen
4)Has Kristin taught you anything?
1. Yea Kentucky Bluegrass
2. I state the truth as I see it.
3. How do you know? I went to the bathroom.
4. Nope. You can't tame this wild horse.
